Down-home, cowboy cafe; good food at a good price. Western decor. Good service.
Bad service, bad food, point blank. We were sat down promptly and served waters. Without even having a chance to look at the menu, we were asked if we were ready to order. The waiter seemed rushed and antsy, like he just downed 5 Red Bulls. He asked if we needed a minute and we said that's fine. Two other parties were sat down, served, and orders taken before he made his way back to us again. Mind you, there were only abour 4-5 tables seated at that time, so it wasn't all that busy. I had to flag him down, which was hilarious to me because the restaurant is so tiny, and he asked if we "were good." Well, I didn't come in to order water, so I asked him if we could order food. We ordered chili, french onion soup, & a burger with onion rings. Our food came out at some point, well, some of it did. The lady handed the burger off to my friend. She looked utterly confused as she asked if we wanted a plate to share it. I said no, but I'd like it if my food would come out to the table as well. She asked me what I ordered and I told her that I ordered a bowl of Chili and that my friends cup of soup also didn't come out. Did I mention that the waiter came to our table twice to weirdly apologize for how busy it was? There were only four tables seated and I could hear his conversation with the other tables– no mention of the hustle and bustle, or business and inability to take orders or be attentive. When I finally did get my chili, it tasted like it came out of a can. You know that metal taste of a can of Hormel? I've had my fair share, but I didn't fight my way to park downtown to come in for a can of chili. The burger was OK, the biscuit that came with my food tasted pretty generic as well. Seems like they just slather everything in butter to make up for the boring taste. Wish I didn't go after reading one bad review, but hopefully this review will deter you from making the same mistake we did.
You honestly cannot go wrong here - everything is amazing. They allow you to exchange items on the menu to cater to any dietary restrictions. Also, the wait staff was supper nice and attentive. 10/10 would recommend going here if you're ever in Durango.
Food was excellent. The people were even better. Great place for some home cooking.
Loved it! Wow the parcels here are enormous. Tony was are waiter and he was attentive and very nice. One of the best Denver omelets I’ve ever had . We will definitely return.
