While the Durango transit system is not exactly top-notch, it provides a necessary service to many people without their own transportation and is definitely an important part of the city's commitment to alternative methods of transit. You'll probably want to avoid the restrooms here, as many of the stall doors are broken down and there are often transients hanging around them. A public phone and some vending machines are available, but other than that there aren't too many services available. The transit center window offers monthly bus passes, parking permits, and parking ticket payment, as well as information about the transit system. Don't expect buses to run on time all of the time, especially the Main Ave Trolley. You'll probably be hopeless in getting to your destination on time if a wheelchair passenger boards, and the availability of the Opportunity bus for disabled or elderly passengers should be promoted more in an effort to keep the normal route buses on schedule. Infrequent service can be frustrating, especially in the evenings as the bus makes an abridged route and runs only hourly. 6:30 is way too early of a cutoff time for regular bus service.
We were told we had to pay or don't get on by one driver. Another driver let us on and said 'it's just a few dollars'. He was nice but the trolley was so stuffy and the fumed came in. My daughter and I got dizzy and got off.
Some of the Driver’s are RUDE to riders. Especially homeless
